Description

Kaiken was named after a wild goose from Patagonia called “Caiquén” that makes its way across the Andes between Argentina and Chile.
Like the wild geese, the founder, Aurelio Montes, had made several trips across the Andes until he realized in 2001 that Mendoza was the perfect place to make Kaikén wines.
Kaiken stands for freedom and boundlessness.

Kaiken’s Malbec Estate is a true example of the varietal’s expression on the Mendoza terroir. It is an elegant, sensual wine with abundant fruit, a wide range of flavors and just the right amount of influence from six months of aging in French oak.

Tasting notes:

Deep dark purple in the glass. In the nose powerful, berry aromas, fine spicy notes. On the palate well structured, intense, notes of berries, coffee, tobacco, dark chocolate. Long lasting on the finish.

Grape variety: Malbec.
Aging: 6 months in French oak barrels.
Soil: Clay.
Residual sugar: 3,1 g/l.
Acidity: 3.6 g/l.
Closure: Natural cork.
Cellaring potential: 4-5 years.
Drinking temperature: 15-16 °C.

This red wine is excellent with pasta dishes with rich sauces, roasted chicken and vegetables.
